Why is my iPSU still showing a red flashing light after I replaced the FiberSafe battery with a new battery?

If you just replaced your battery and the power indicator light does not turn green within 5 minutes, check to ensure that the power supply is plugged in. Recheck your battery connections.

If battery is installed correctly, press reset button.

If light still does not light or you're still seeing a red flashing light and you've replaced the battery with a new battery, the problem is not the battery and you should call 1-800-288-2020 to be connected to AT&T Customer Service.

How can I tell if my iNID and the iPSU are working properly?

On the front of your iPSU there are two indicator lights. If your iPSU is receiving normal AC power, a solid green "Power" light on the left will be on. If the red "Battery" light on the right is flashing, this indicates that normal AC power is not working and the FiberSafe backup battery is providing DC power to the iNID or that the iNID is not yet communicating with the iPSU.

What should I do with my old FiberSafe12 backup battery?
Do not discard the FiberSafe12 backup battery in the trash. It is a sealed lead acid battery that must be properly recycled. We recommend that you take your used battery into your local recycling center or a national automotive battery supply store. Also, most retail stores that sell automotive lead acid batteries will accept small lead acid batteries for recycling. Other lead acid battery recycling centers can be located by calling the Portable Rechargeable Battery Association at 202-719-4978.

Will my phones work with AT&T U-verse Voice service during a power outage?
Your home's cordless phones will not function during a power outage without a separate battery backup, and not all cordless phones are so equipped.

It is recommended that you have one corded single-line touchtone phone directly connected to your home networking hub or your in-home wiring for use in the event of a power outage.

Yes. During installation of your AT&T U-verse Voice service, a new FiberSafe12 backup battery was installed. You are solely responsible for periodically monitoring the iPSU and promptly understanding and reacting to the warning lights and audible alarms. You are also responsible for replacing the battery when needed in order to maintain uninterruptable AT&T U-verse Voice service during a power outage.

The FiberSafe12 backup battery is a Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) sealed rechargeable battery. It is manufactured by EnerSys. The FiberSafe12 backup battery does not require any conditioning, water or maintenance; only monitoring of the iPSU indicators is required.
